What is a QCF Qualification? |
QCF (Qualification Credit Framework) qualifications assess real work activities. Basically, they are a process of collecting evidence to show that each learner meets the national occupational standards – in both skills and knowledge |
A qualification is made up of a set number of core and optional units which can be tailored to reflect the job that a worker is doing. |
An assessor observes each learner at work and assesses their portfolio of evidence |
Each unit gains the learner a number of ‘credits’. All units achieved are recorded on their QCF National Learning Record – and some may later count towards other qualifications |
